The dirt was so dry when she started to grow
How the sun felt year after year it felt as if she’d never know
The rain would come and bring about a drought
Her flowers didn’t bloom and she didn’t think she’d get out
She wanted the sun , the sky, and the sea
Though the chance didn’t come to show the world what she could be
She withstood hurricanes that uprooted her from her core
Despite it all she knew deep down she could be so much more
Even with no water to bloom
She refused to only have her life be never ending gloom
It took everything in her - even her strength
But up through the dirt she grew in length
The dirt cleared its way and you could see it all didn’t phase me
I was determined to see the petals i had worked so hard for just like a daisy
